I didn't like it. Has Goldsborough ever read the real Nero Wolfe books?A few of the many problems: Lily calls Archie Escamillo too often. Wolfe goes to the seance too easily. Too many phone conversations with Lon. The banter is pathetic. There is no plot. Not even the food sounds good.Etc. While I enjoyed this book because Robert writes as well as Rex, I was frustrated. No time period is really given and one would read the book as if it came chronologically after the book before. In the beginning one of the operatives who had been killed off by Rex Stout was alive! I kept thinking of that as I was reading. Later when Archie was out with Lily another character was talked about as alive when he was murdered many books ago. I’m not sure why Robert did this. If the book took place before these 2 men died, it should have been made more clear to the reader. Otherwise, it was a great read. I appreciate the talent Robert has for continuing this series.
